DESPITE the economic gloom, house building in Bexley is continuing at a positive rate.
While much of the country is facing reduced construction, falling house prices and increasing difficulty in getting mortgages approved, Bexley is set to receive more than 1,800 houses in the next
five years – with nearly 20 per cent affordable for rent and shared ownership.
Funding from the Homes and Communities Agency has helped supply affordable homes and key developments include at Crayford Town Hall, Southmere Village in Thamesmead and Larner Road in Erith.
